Tuesday’s Tips

CHANGE OF CREAM

Have you been using the same type of skin treatment creams, lotions for the past 5 or 10 years?  Hopefully not longer than that!

Well you shouldn’t be really, after all, your skin is not the same now as it was all those years ago, unfortunately.

Just take a look in the mirror and see.

Make sure you regularly check your skin care products to keep them working for your skin.

Teenage skin would need more Tea Tree in their products, for the anti bacterial effect.

Whilst 40+ skin could need more Vitamin A in the products to help with the cell renewal process.

Make sure your lotions are still working for you.  It will save you money too.

Healthy Skin Foods

Vitamin A is great for healthy skin hair and eyes.  It is active in the process of new cell growth.

So make sure you eat you berries, eggs, milk and oily fish.  There are many other foods too that would give you skin a boost.

HAND PROTECTION

Hands are always out in the elements unless you live in gloves.

Even when driving they get attacked by the sun, whilst up on the steering wheel.

So always use a sun cream on your hands.  Even if it’s a body sun screen.  It’s better than nothing, even in winter.

It will also help to hold back the signs of the brown age spots.

LIP BARRIERS

We should always wear something on our lips to help protect them.

Lipstick, gloss or balms should be worn as the layers of the skin on the lips are much thinner than the rest of the face.

Not only will balms, gloss or lipstick make them feel nice and moist they also help protect them from the environment more.

DOUBLE BUBBLE

You can use skincare products for more that one task.  To help save you money.

For instance lip balms can help to tame those one or two wild hairs in the eyebrows.  Use the balm like a hair gel.

Use your hand creams on your feet.  Especially when you have tubes and tubs of the stuff, given to you for Christmas or a birthday.

EYE CREAMS

Make sure you use a specific cream for around the eyes.

The skin around the eyes is very delicate.  So ordinary face moisturisers can cause little white hard spots (milia) if used constantly.

Fake Tans

Just a quick reminder to all you fake tan lovers. Please please remember that fake tans give you NO protection against the sun at all. You must still always apply the correct amount of suitable sun protection that suits your skin type.

Clean Hands Clean Face

Always make sure you wash your hands before you start to apply your facial cleanser. If you think of all the tasks your hands have undertaken during the day, then think how much bacteria could potentially be on your hands. Do you really want to transfer that bacteria to your face, I don’t think so. So give your hands a thorough cleanse and then start your facial cleansing routine. Your face will thank you for it.

Avoid Facials !!

Avoid having a facial if you are near your period time. This time of the month your skin can become quite sensitive and react to products that you may have used many times before. The better time to have a facial would be a week after your period, when it has time to settle down.

TEA BAGS

Don’t waste your used tea bags, especially if they are Chamomile or Green Tea. You can use them to place over the eyes to help sooth and reduce puffiness. Use immediately after you have made a cuppa to help you relax that little bit more. Or place them in the fridge for a while until cold. This really helps with puffy sore eyes.
